A 1990s home off Mudgeeraba Road had pale blackbutt through the living areas - sun-faded by the big hinterland windows and scratched after years of family life. They wanted it back to that light, clean, modern look without changing the timber’s colour.
We sanded the blackbutt back to even, raw timber, lifting the faded patches and years of fine scratches. Gaps from the dry hinterland air were filled and a couple of lifted boards near the deck doors re-fixed.
To keep blackbutt’s naturally pale colour we finished in a crystal-clear waterbase 2-pack at matte - no ambering, tough against the dust and grit that comes in from acreage living, and soft underfoot.
The floor reads bright and even again, exactly matched to the light timber the owners love. The matte coat hides the hinterland dust between cleans and stands up to kids and pets. Two and a half days, dust-controlled throughout.
